Supporting The British Skin Foundation

The British Skin Foundation is the only UK charity that raises money to fund research into all types of skin diseases, including skin cancer

Sixty percent of British people currently suffer from or have suffered with a skin disease at some point during their lifetime. Whilst some skin conditions are manageable, others are severe enough to kill.

Founded in 1996, the British Skin Foundation has supported 400 research projects and awarded £17,000,000 in funding across all skin diseases.

Whilst British skin foundation are dedicated to raising money for research, they also aim to raise awareness of skin diseases in the wider community. We're committed to educating people about the different skin conditions, helping to reduce stigma and promote understanding.

Over the past 21 years, the British Skin foundation has supported over 360 high quality research projects with a total value of over £12 million.

More than £2.5 million has been put towards research into skin cancer, a further £1 Million towards psoriasis and more than £1 million towards projects looking at eczema. Work has also been funded which deals with some less common conditions such as ichthyosis, vitiligo and alopecia. In all, the British Skin Foundation has funded research into more than 50 different types of skin disease.

The BSF has also funded some exciting work in partnership with patient support groups such as the National Eczema Society, the Vitiligo Society and the Ichthyosis Support Group, as well as professional dermatological groups including the British Society for Paediatric Dermatology, British Contact Dermatitis Society and the British Photodermatology Group.
